Mary is Angie’s mother.
Mary was the oldest child in a large family. She was called on to help out a lot.
When Mary Caroline was twelve years old she went to work for an aunt. She worked 6 weeks and received $0.75 a week, so she earned a total of $4.50 for her six week job. After her six week job she went to SLC to help another aunt. She was there for six months.
Mary learned to sew when she was twelve years old and made all of her own clothes. She also helped make many clothes for her younger siblings.
In 1893, Mary was eighteen years old. She received an invitation to attend the Salt Lake Temple Dedication. She was able to go to SLC and attend the dedication. It took 4 days to travel to SLC from Oak City by wagon.
